‚You want me to tell the truth? The truth is I never saw “L’elisir d’amore” live. That is quite something, actually. Usually when you do an opera for the first time you go and see it. I conducted this opera very, very early on in my career, probably the first or second year after school. I only conducted it once then and to tell you the truth… it’s like twenty five years ago and I don’t remember anything from that performance,‘ French conductor Marc Piollet began our interview.
